«They say that the street girl
is a holy woman,
that she goes to bathe in the afternoon
and arrives at dawn…»
Traditional verse
From the traditional song of “La callejera”, from the tradition of the fandango de varitas from Tututepec, Oaxaca; This play takes us on a sensitive journey through lust, represented as a woman who enjoys herself, and surrenders to infinite pleasure without caring about judgments, condemnations, and guilt. The use of the skirt stands out as a characteristic element of folk dance, but on this occasion it is resignified as a sea of sex and passion that surrounds us.
